Doesn’t the Price of Gold Vary? Should I Wait To See If It Goes Up?

This is one of the most common questions we hear.

Although the price of gold does fluctuate depending on factors affecting the world market, there is no assurance of the price of gold tomorrow and it is better to lock into a current high price.  Even if you were to wait and the price went up or down by $10, $20, etc. the payout price would only fluctuate by less than a dollar per oz.  Unless you are selling very large amounts of gold, this increase will not greatly affect your total payout.  Also, there is a good chance that markets may actually go down rather than up.  The current world market has proven to be unstable and unpredictable so it is best to sell while there is a guarantee of a good price.

  1. I would rather jump at the best offer today than wait for the price to go up in future. What if it never does.Like you stated most times the gold market might fall rather than go up.As for me I totally agree with you…I would go for the best payout now.A bird in hand is worth two in the bush.

I once waited for the price to go up and I guess i was lucky it did and i bought it at a much higher price. But the next time I tried it I was so disappointed and now I know its good to buy now than wait. The price does really vary but its not worth waiting for the change.

Gold ‘price’ fluctuates more due to the manipulation of the dollar than anything else, the value of gold remains stable. So, in point of fact, it could be considered that the value or price of gold is not changing. Only the dollar value subscribed to it is changing, depending on the fluctuations of the value of the dollar and the vagaries of the political, and economic climate.I wouldn’t wait for it to change to buy any though.

I wouldn’t advice anyone to wait for change in price of gold. It can be very tricky and you get to loose on the long run. Just make sure you get what your gold is worth.
